This custom video was one of my favorites to make! I chose from a few (amazing) songs my fan provided and had full creative liberties- he asked me to move/dance to my chosen song however the music inspired me to. I listened through all the songs and decided to run with a familiar one- Suggestion by Fugazi. It starts- "why can't I walk down a street free of suggestion?" This song has always conjured up an intensity in me that I was really excited to work with. After dancing through it a few times, I started to feel the story coming together. Initially I pictured myself literally walking down the street in various states of dress/undress. I imagined myself getting more clothed and less clothed- I couldn't decide which direction to go until I thought of reversing the video and suddenly it said everything at once. "Is my body my only trait in the eyes of men? // I've got some skin" The last line that cuts out: "we blame her for being there // but we are all guilty" If you're not familiar with this song I highly suggest giving it a solid listen!
