
Believe it or not, a job was called a "Lipstick Tester" in the 1950s. Can you imagine? A man's whole job was to sit there and... get kissed! Now, this wasn't some weird dating service. These kisses were for science (of a sort). The lipstick testers were there to see how well different lipsticks stayed on. They'd get a fresh coat, and then women would be brought in to peck their heads and faces. Now, this method might seem a bit... unconventional, to say the least. But it does show us something interesting: marketing and how we test products change over time. Back then, a kiss was the best way they knew to see if lipstick lasted. .
