" In the 80's and 90's, when @tank4154 and I were tiptoeing out of the closet and exploring the gay world, HIV was devastating the community. Many of our friends and lovers were sick or dead, and the fear of contracting the disease was ever present. Also during these decades, the media and porn created imagery for gay men that idealized one physical look that was deemed attractive and desirable. Essentially the look was a completely smooth body, smooth and handsome face, full head of hair, a muscled, worked out body, very little body fat, under 35 years old, and wearing very masculine fashion. There were no daddies, bears, cubs, pups, otters, wolves, or twinks. These categories started in the 2000's. If you didn't fit the ideal look or age, your perceived chances of hooking up or landing a relationship were significantly diminished. Most of us tried to look and act as straight as possible in order to be accepted and blend in to society. Tank and I both remember working hard to maintain our bodies and clothes to adhere to the clone look and we dreaded the aging process. Of course we also thought we might not live to be past 50 because of AIDS and part of us was glad, since men of that age were expected to have already found partners and were absolutely not welcome in the nightlife scene. Fast forward 30 years to this modern time of gay living, and so much has changed. The introduction of PREP and HIV medications are big ones that are enhancing our health and longevity. A huge variety of looks, personalities, body types, ages, genders and fashion are now not just accepted, but celebrated and widely considered as attractive and hot-- as it should be! Tank and I went from thinking we'd either be dead by now or hiding alone in our apartments, to experiencing some of the most exciting times in our lives, including amazing sexual connections with others. So that's why we titled this movie, ""Look Forward to Old Man Sex!"", because if you are looking at your future with anything other than positive anticipation, you're on the wrong track.
